In addition to the above permits and applications the County is also responsible for administering approvals for activities in Oil & Gas, Power, and Telecommunications systems. Applications can be submitted to the County Approvals Officer.
Facility Crossing Agreements
Facility Crossing Agreements are required when crossing County of Newell Water Pipelines. Agreements are vaild for one year only. Please refer to the Schedule of Fees Bylaw for any costs associated with this agreement.
Proximity Agreements
Proximity Agreements are required when working within 100m's of a County of Newell Road Allowance or within 30m's of a County of Newell Water Pipeline. Please refer to the Schedule of Fees Bylaw for any costs associated with this agreement.
Road Approach Agreements
Road Approach Agreements are required to construct or use an existing Road Approach off of a County of Newell Road Allowance. Please refer to the Schedule of Fees Bylaw for any costs associated with this agreement.
Road Crossing Agreements
Road Crossings Agreements are required when performing any ground disturbance activities within a County of Newell Road Allowance. Please refer to the Schedule of Fees Bylaw for any costs associated with this agreement.
Road Use Agreements
The County of Newell requires all commercial users of the County road system to register with our partner Roadata Services Ltd, an Annual Road Use Agreement document. This will allow the County of Newell to know who is using our road system, and what general rules to follow, if there was any doubt. This annual agreement is a simple one page document outlining the terms and conditions the County of Newell would like to see our commercial partners follow for safe usage of our infrastructure, and the continuing health of our road system. There are no fee’s for this agreement, the only costs may come if the commercial user damages the road surface to the point to where repairs are required.
Seismic Agreements
Seismic Agreement are required for any seismic project within the County of Newell. Please refer to the Schedule of Fees Bylaw for any costs associated with this agreement.
Texas Gate Agreements
The County of Newell will accept texas gate applications and approve them in accordance with current policy, on developed and undeveloped road allowances.
Before installation, all texas gates are to have prior approval of the County and must be installed as per the terms and conditions of the Texas Gate Agreement. The terms and condition of the agreement remain in full effect for the period of time which the gate is in place.
