We provide several options for you to pay your bill:
- Online banking or telephone banking at most registered banks or Credit Unions across Canada (see below for more instructions).
- Online via Interac e-Transfer (send to eft@newellmail.ca)
- Online with a credit card using OptionPay.
NOTE: OptionPay collects a Load Fee for processing the credit card transactions. The fee does not go to the County of Newell. - Via mail by Cheque or Money Order (please don't send cash through the mail). To ensure your payment is applied to the correct account, reference the utility account number.
- In person with a cheque via the drop slot in our receiving entrance door (our offices are currently closed to the public for other forms of in-person payment). Please include the bottom portion of your utility bill with your payment. If you would like a receipt, please include a note indicating whether you would like it e-mailed to you (include your e-mail address) or mailed.
- DO NOT VISIT OUR OFFICE IF YOU ARE ILL, HAVE TRAVELLED OUTSIDE OF CANADA WITHIN THE LAST 14 DAYS, OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WHO IS, OR MAY BE, INFECTED WITH THE COVID-19 VIRUS.
Paying your Utilities Through Your Financial Institution
- Look for us under the Bill Payment Section as "Newell, County of" or "Newell County".
- Select the Payee "Newell, County of - Utilities" or "Newell County - Utilities".
- Create the account using your Utility Account Number without the decimal as your account number (see below):

Your account number will be exactly 10 digits in length – omit the decimal
