Signage
One of the key responsibilities of Public Works is maintaining the County's network of traffic control and information signs. The Operations team is responsible for:
- 1,000 regulation signs (e.g., speed limits, stop signs)
- 2,500 warning signs (e.g., curves, intersections, hazards)
- 3,400 informational signs (e.g., road names, directional signs)
This work is carried out by the maintenance team using a specialized sign truck, equipped with the necessary tools and materials to install and repair signs year-round. All regulation signs are installed according to the Alberta Transportation Highway Signs Guidelines and the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Canada.
Please note: The County does not maintain rural address signs. For more information > Municipal Addressing
