Obtaining Permits for Over-weight and Over-dimensional Vehicles in Alberta
All basic permits (over-weight, over-dimension and licensing) are processed through an automated permit system (TRAVIS). Carriers have the option of entering their permit applications directly on TRAVIS using the Web or using a TRAVIS Agent to input the permit application data. Agents are accessible by phone or fax. RoaData Services is the current permit provider to the County.
The primary role of the Central Permit Office is to provide permit approvals, user information, and TRAVIS support. A small number of specialized permit types, such as vehicle exemption permits will continue to be handled directly by the permit office.
