Position Objectives:
The County of Newell Agricultural Services Department is now accepting applications to join our team as a Campground Supervisor at our Emerson Bridge Park location. Reporting to the Manager of Parks and Facilities, the Emerson Bridge Park Supervisor will contribute to the goals, values, and success of the County.
Duties include the following:
•
Must provide own self-contained camping unit (e.g., motorhome, towable trailer, truck camper) and stay on-site for the agreed duration of the placement.
•
Organize campers and day use participants while creating a welcoming, positive camping experience.
•
Light duty maintenance, upkeep throughout the campground and regular cleaning of sites and washroom facilities.
•
Collect camping fees from campers, organize registration, and sell firewood
•
Monitor campground patrons for compliance with County rules and procedures, confirm and inform where necessary.
•
Manage irrigation system to maintain vegetation.
Due to the nature and diversity of the duties, applicants must be conscientious persons who are self-starters and able to work under minimal supervision. Some heavy lifting may be required, and additional duties may be assigned as the need arises.
Preference will be given to applicants possessing:
•
Previous campground caretaker experience.
•
A valid Intermediate First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
•
A valid Alberta driver’s licence.
•
A current driver’s abstract.
The County of Newell offers a competitive salary and benefits as well as excellent training and education programs. The wage for this position starts at $3,941.98 per month. This position can begin as early as Thursday, May 7, 2026, and end as late as Friday, September 25, 2026.
