Position Objectives:
The County of Newell is seeking an enthusiastic self-motivated leader with a strong technical aptitude to join our team as an Engineering Supervisor. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Manager of Planning, Development and Engineering Services. The position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of annual construction and maintenance programs, including budgeting, data collection, design, tendering, and supervising. It is also responsible for the coordination of County Asset Management Plans, the collection and processing of assets and features of assets in GIS for all infrastructures related to transportation, water, wastewater, and storm water services, and for assisting with long-range capital planning and the coordination of professional services to execute annual workplans.Duties and Responsibilities:
Areas of Responsibility: A variety of administrative and technical tasks related to civil engineering, survey, design, construction, and asset management are performed by this position. The primary responsibilities will focus on the total life cycle management of all County infrastructure, including making recommendations for both acquisition and disposal processes in accordance with County policy.Minimum Requirements:
Preference will be given to applicants possessing:
• Education in Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Previous experience in construction management is an asset.
• Experience in RTK GPS Survey, Design, and CAD Drafting is an asset.
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar capacity, including proven skills.
• Must work efficiently in a computerized environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, public relations, and technical skills.
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
• Must be bondable.
